Camille and Chemtech Dragon Soul Set to Receive Nerfs in League Patch 11.24

The first patch of the 2022 preseason in League of Legends is almost here and it aims to address some of the biggest issues brought by the preseason changes. The patch aims to prevent the overpowered champions from carrying their power into the new season.

Phlox, the designer on the Summoner’s Rift team for League of Legends, has announced multiple nerfs planned for the 2022 preseason changes. This is the first patch to tackle the issues introduced in the preseason, and it won’t be the last before the official start of the 2022 season.

The champion Camille will receive nerfs in Patch 11.24 because she has been dominating the top lane. With the new build paths and the choice of Ignite over Flash, Camille has become incredibly strong this preseason. Her burst damage, sustain, and mobility put her far ahead of other top lane champions, so she needs to be toned down.

Predator and Glacial Augment are also planned to receive nerfs in Patch 11.24. Predator has been a popular keystone for junglers, offering mobility to both mobile and immobile champions. This nerf will give a chance for other keystone rune choices to shine. Glacial Augment has seen widespread usage due to the improved slow it provides, which has made champions abandon their usual keystone rune choices. To balance things out, the slow effect of Glacial Augment will be reduced.

Several Mythic items and a Legendary item will also be nerfed in Patch 11.24. These items, including Crown of the Shattered Queen, Evenshroud, Frostfire Gauntlet, and Cosmic Drive, have made certain champions too strong in various areas. They have also limited the usage of other Mythic items for mages and tanks. These items will receive adjustments to restore balance.

One of the new dragons, the Chemtech Dragon’s buff, will also be nerfed. This dragon’s change on the Rift has caused issues, as it revives the team that secures its Soul for a short duration after death. Champions with life steal have been taking advantage of this second life to continue causing havoc. The extent of this nerf is unclear, but it’s likely that the Chemtech Dragon Soul will no longer allow champions to rampage in their zombie form for long.

Patch 11.24 for League of Legends is set to release on Dec. 8, marking the first patch after the launch of the 2022 preseason. The nerfs mentioned in this patch preview are subject to change before their release on live servers. More details about these nerfs will be explained in the coming days.
