Caitlyn and Briar to Undergo Massive Damage Nerfs in League of Legends Patch 13.21

League of Legends Champions Set to Receive Damage Nerfs in Patch 13.21

Six League of Legends champions will be getting early game and scaling damage nerfs in the upcoming Patch 13.21 scheduled for release on October 25th.

The biggest patches for season 13, such as the Worlds patch and the mid-season patch, are already live, but players are eagerly awaiting the season 14 preseason patch. In the meantime, there are significant changes coming to the Rift.

League’s gameplay designer, Matt “Phroxzon” Leung-Harrison, recently announced on October 17th the six champions that will receive nerfs in Patch 13.21.

At first glance, the nerfs may come as a surprise, particularly the Caitlyn nerf considering her relatively high win rate. However, Phroxzon clarified that they are specifically targeting her Lethality build, which currently has a poor win rate. Therefore, unless one of Caitlyn’s core items is buffed, the damage nerfs in Patch 13.21 may affect her position on the ladder.

Briar, Jinx, Aurelion Sol, and Rammus will have their early game or scaling damage reduced to cap their burst damage potential in the game. Dr. Mundo, known for his massive health bar, will also receive a nerf due to his high win rate on the Rift.

It is unfortunate to see these champions, who have recently become viable in ranked play, get pushed down a few ranks. However, the nerfs are considered necessary for the overall balance of the game.

League Patch 13.21 is set to release next week on the Rift.
