Caedrel and Excel Esports part ways, player takes a break from professional gaming

Excel Esports Announces Departure of Jungler Caedrel

Excel Esports has announced that they are parting ways with their jungler, Marc Robert “Caedrel” Lamont. Caedrel, who is 24 years old, will also be taking a break from professional League of Legends.

Previous Stints and Lackluster Performance

Caedrel joined Excel in December 2018 and played four complete splits for the team in the LEC. Unfortunately, throughout his time with the organization, Excel consistently finished as a middle-of-the-pack or bottom-ranked team, failing to qualify for the LEC playoffs.

No information has been revealed yet regarding who will be filling the jungler position for Excel in the upcoming split. The team currently has no substitute junglers on its main roster, which leaves open the possibility of promoting academy jungler Christian Vendelbo “Taxer” Bylling Jensen. Alternatively, Excel may consider acquiring an external player to strengthen their roster for the upcoming split.

Despite Excel’s underwhelming performance, Caedrel has shown great talent in other aspects. Following his team’s failure to qualify for the playoffs, he appeared as an analyst on the LEC broadcast and was also part of the World Championship State Farm analyst desk. Through his insightful analysis, Caedrel offered fans a better understanding of pro player thinking and how to improve as a League player.

A few hours after leaving Excel, Caedrel shared an update on his future plans. He will be taking a break from professional play to pursue a freelance role.

This decision potentially makes him a strong candidate for the LEC broadcast team, as they often work with casters and analysts on a freelance basis. While this is purely speculative, it wouldn’t be surprising considering Caedrel’s successful past experiences on the broadcast team.
