Bubbadub Becomes Head Coach of Cloud9 Tempest

A New Coach for Cloud9 Tempest

The League of Legends scene has welcomed a familiar face. Royce “Bubbadub” Newcomb, formerly of Complexity and Fusion, has joined Cloud9 as a coach for its Challenger team, Cloud9 Tempest.

Experience and Recruitment

Cloud9’s decision to recruit Newcomb comes as no surprise, as he previously worked with Cloud9’s General Manager during his time at Complexity. The recruitment process for the Challenger team was thorough, with the help of Cloud9’s main coach narrowing down the candidates.

Impressive Resume and Coaching Skills

Newcomb’s extensive experience in NACS and NALCS made him an ideal candidate. The team ultimately chose him for the head coach position due to his strategic approach to the game. Cloud9 is confident that Newcomb will prove himself as a top North American coaching talent.

A Look Back at Newcomb’s Career

Newcomb, an experienced player himself, started his career in 2013 with Complexity. Despite facing setbacks, he and his Complexity teammates qualified for the League Championship Series in 2014. However, the team was later relegated by Challenger team, Team 8.

After a series of disappointments, Newcomb briefly took a break from League of Legends to work. He later joined Team Fusion as an analyst, but the team did not succeed in the Summer Promotion Tournament.

Newcomb Joins Cloud9 Tempest

With Newcomb now on board, Cloud9 Tempest is poised to become one of the best Challenger teams of the summer. Led by mid laner David “Yusui” Bloomquist, jungler Tony “Hard” Barkhovtsev, and support Jamie “Sheep” Gallagher, the team must overcome strong opponents in the qualifier tournament. Newcomb’s veteran experience will be a valuable asset for Cloud9 Tempest.
