‘Broxah Reveals LEC Teams Blocking Transfers: It’s a Recurring Issue’

Mads “Broxah” Brock-Pedersen Joins Discussion on Contract Jail in League of Legends

Former Fnatic and Team Liquid jungler, Mads “Broxah” Brock-Pedersen, recently shared his thoughts on contract jail in the world of League of Legends esports.

In a recent stream, Broxah mentioned Marcin “Jankos” Jankowski and revealed that he is aware of multiple instances where players were prevented from joining different teams due to their contracts.

“It’s sad… a lot of LEC teams are blocking each other from trading players and denying them opportunities to play in the teams they want,” Broxah expressed.

Specifically, Broxah pointed out Jankos, highlighting the high buyout clause as a potential barrier to joining other teams.

Broxah explained that this is not a new phenomenon in esports and that similar situations have happened before, but without public discussion. He shared his own experiences of players being unable to join their desired teams due to their current contracts.

In reference to G2 Esports’ sale of Luka “Perkz” Perković to Cloud9, Broxah mentioned the inclusion of a clause that prevented Cloud9 from selling Perkz to Fnatic. This shows that such issues have been occurring for some time.

Potential Impact on Team Composition and Regional Competitiveness

Looking to the future, Broxah believes that no organization will be able to have a team without weaknesses next year. This could potentially affect the gap between the Western and Eastern regions in League of Legends esports.
