Big Ten Network Unveils Exciting Debut Season

Big Ten Network Announces Launch of First Big Ten League of Legends Season

Earlier today, the Big Ten Network announced their inaugural Big Ten League of Legends season. This season will feature twelve of the Big Ten schools, with Nebraska and Penn State not participating. Apart from the thrill of competing in front of a massive audience and representing their universities, each player will also receive $5,000 in scholarship money.

BTN West and BTN East Divisions

The league will be divided into two divisions: the BTN West and the BTN East. Each division will consist of six teams. These teams will compete against each other in a best-of-three round robin format within their division. The purpose of these matches is to determine the division champion and representative for the first BTN League of Legends Championship. The champion of the BTN League of Legends Championship will earn a spot in the 2017 League of Legends College Championship, where they will face off against the top collegiate teams in the nation.

Season Schedule and Championship Date

The season kicks off on January 30th with the match between Rutgers and Maryland. The tournament will continue until March 27th, which is the date of the BTN championship.
