Aurelion Sol Gameplay Update Brings Fantasy of Space Dragons to League’s PBE

New Changes Coming to League of Legends in 2022

In the new year, League of Legends will be introducing updates to various aspects of the game, including a highly-anticipated update to one of the least popular champions, Aurelion Sol.

A recent patch to League’s Public Beta Environment (PBE) files has added a comprehensive gameplay update for Aurelion Sol, also known as the Star Forger. This update introduces completely new abilities to the champion while keeping his iconic original model. A video by SkinSpotlights reveals a different direction for the champion compared to his original kit.

Aurelion Sol’s Updated Abilities

One major change is that three stars no longer revolve around Aurelion Sol at all times during the game. Instead, he gains a new passive ability called Cosmic Creator, which enhances the effectiveness of his abilities as he accumulates stacks of Stardust. These stacks can be obtained by damaging enemies with abilities.

Aurelion Sol’s Q ability, Breath of Light, has been updated to deal more damage the longer it targets a single enemy. It also becomes stronger with the accumulation of Stardust. His W ability has undergone slight changes, now allowing him to travel a short distance with a shorter cooldown. Additionally, he can freely cast his Q ability with increased damage while using his W.

An entirely new ability, E-Singularity, has been added to Aurelion Sol’s kit. It functions as a small area-of-effect black hole with a strong gravitational pull. This ability executes enemies trapped within it when they reach a certain HP threshold. The black hole grows in size and deals more damage with additional Stardust.

Aurelion Sol’s new ultimate ability, Falling Star, unleashes a giant meteor from the cosmos that stuns enemies upon impact. Accumulating enough Stardust upgrades this ability into The Skies Descend, creating a larger impact, knocking up enemies, and releasing a shockwave that travels an immense distance.

Release Information

The specific release date of Aurelion Sol’s gameplay update for League of Legends’ live servers is currently unknown. However, it is expected that the testing phase for this major overhaul of the champion’s abilities will last for several weeks. In the meantime, players can look forward to a mid-scope update for Jax, which will be released alongside Patch 13.1 on January 10th.
