Asmongold calls on LoL players to take page out of Helldivers 2’s book and boycott $450 Faker skin

The League of Legends community is fuming about the price of the Faker Hall of Legends bundle. Streamers have taken up on the situation, notably Asmongold, who has had some tough remarks regarding the controversy.

On May 29, Asmongold discussed the $450 Faker package. After seeing the criticism on social media, Asmongold labeled it a disgusting cash grab. But he sees a ray of light and advises the League community to follow Helldivers 2’s example and boycott the bundle.

“If League players can effectively boycott this, I may protest about store mounts in World of Warcraft once more. Because we have long lived in the shadows of these enormous corporations that force us about. And they restrain us. However, Helldivers 2 demonstrated that there is another path and way,” Asmongold stated.

He stated that it is becoming viable to band together as a community to oppose this type of approach from developers. “As gamers, we can band together to stand up to this. And if enough people have a complete meltdown, the world might change,” he warned.

The Helldivers 2 boycott, as mentioned by Asmongold, occurred earlier this month. To play the game, the developer intended to require players on all platforms to link their PSN accounts. This was fraught with issues, including excluding players from specific countries from participating entirely. The community despised the notion and opposed it, review bombing the game and airing their grievances on social media.

Riot Games has yet to address the Faker bundle controversy. Perhaps Asmongold is correct, and players should rise up and express themselves. It is ridiculous to pay nearly $500 for an exclusive League package.
