Artist designs impressive Battle Boss Vel’Koz skin concept for League of Legends

A New Skin Concept for Vel’Koz Revealed

The latest additions to the Arcade skin line in League of Legends have been unveiled, featuring new cosmetics for popular champions like Yasuo, Caitlyn, and Kai’Sa. However, one fan took matters into their own hands, creating a Battle Boss Vel’Koz skin concept since the champion hasn’t received a skin since 2016. The concept, created by artist Amuyopo, gives Vel’Koz a more cartoon-like appearance that fits thematically with the other skins in the universe. The design includes a purple cape with a red collar and a golden crown. The biggest change is the transformation of his tentacles into three gloves.

A Chance for an Unique Legendary Skin

This skin concept presented Riot Games with an opportunity to create a unique legendary skin. It would have required creating entirely new animations for Vel’Koz’s arms and abilities, making it an exciting addition to the game.

Fan Reaction and Disappointment

Reddit users expressed their liking for the Battle Boss Vel’Koz skin concept, comparing its style to that of Veigar and Blitzcrank, which fits well within the theme. However, some fans were disappointed that champions like Caitlyn and Yasuo received Arcade skins instead of Vel’Koz or other champions that they believe would have been a better fit.

Many fans also expressed disappointment with the newest additions to the Arcade skin line, stating that they feel underwhelming. They believe that the Battle Boss Vel’Koz concept would have been a preferred choice. Although it may not become an official skin in League of Legends, fans can only imagine how great it would look on Summoner’s Rift.
