ARAM Bans Rekindle Interest Among League Players

League of Legends Fans Upset Over Removal of ARAM Ban System

Fans of League of Legends are furious after the newly-introduced All Random All Mid (ARAM) ban system was taken away.

ARAM matches often featured overpowered champions who could single-handedly dominate a game. Whether they were on your team or the enemy team, it felt like an unfair disadvantage.

The ban system was intended to be the perfect solution. If you didn’t want to deal with Xerath’s annoying poke damage or Fiddlesticks’ irritating bouncy crows, you could just ban them. It was a simple and effective way to level the playing field. The system was well-received by the League subreddit and boards. However, Riot Games decided to remove it just a few days later due to negative feedback.

This decision baffled the community, prompting a poll on the League subreddit asking if players liked bans in ARAM. Over 72% of the 37,000 participants voted yes. While this number may not represent the entire player base, it gives an idea of the support for the ban system. On the League boards, several threads appeared expressing frustration and disagreement with the removal of the system.

It’s unclear why the ban system was removed, but one theory suggests that ARAM account users were to blame. These players only buy the strongest champions to maximize their chances of winning. While some may see this as harmless, many find it annoying. If their chosen champions are banned, it renders their accounts useless and frustrates them.

Some argue that banning champions in ARAM makes the game mode less random. If the same overpowered champions are banned every game, it simply shifts the focus to the next set of overpowered champions. Perhaps bans are not the right solution after all.

Riot has not commented on the issue, but it is possible that the ban system might return in the future after a testing period. Only time will tell. In the meantime, the community remains upset, urging Riot to address the situation before tensions escalate.
