Aphromoo Joins 100 Thieves for the 2018 NA LCS Season

Zaqueri “Aphromoo” Black Joins 100 Thieves

Zaqueri “Aphromoo” Black has officially joined 100 Thieves, as announced on YouTube today.

Last week, reports emerged about the possibility of Aphromoo, one of North America’s most successful support players, joining 100 Thieves, the new NA LCS franchise led by esports influencer Matthew “Nadeshot” Haag. Nadeshot and head coach Neil “Pr0lly” Hammad released a video to explain the decision behind recruiting Aphromoo.

New Roster Focuses on Experience

The team’s focus for their new roster seems to prioritize experience over new and potential players. Aphromoo joins the team with William “Meteos” Hartman, Yoo “Ryu” Sang-wook, and Kim “Ssumday” Chan-ho, three seasoned veterans who haven’t achieved much success on their previous teams in recent LCS splits.

Combining these players, led by Aphromoo, could lead to exceptional results as they have individually showcased their capabilities. Their first season in the franchised NA LCS could potentially end with a victory, or it could go the exact opposite way.

Potential Limitations of an Experienced Roster

While all these players are skilled and considered top-tier talent at their best, it’s important to recognize that the 100 Thieves roster may have limited room to grow compared to a team with more rookies or younger players. This means they may fall short even with a new team and coach.

Ryu took time off during the Summer Split due to burnout, and Meteos seemingly retired from the pro scene for the same reason before returning in the spring.

A Powerful Roster for 2018

It’s realistic to assume that these feelings of burnout may resurface, but if they don’t, this roster could be particularly powerful in 2018.
