Aphelios to Get Offhand Weapon Indicator and Further Nerfs in League of Legends Patch 10.4

Riot Games Improving Clarity and Nerfs for Aphelios in Patch 10.4

Riot Games announced today that they will be implementing more changes to Aphelios, the marksman in League of Legends, with Patch 10.4. These changes aim to add clarity to the gameplay when playing against the champion.

One of the changes that Riot is making is adding an indicator to Aphelios’ health bar, showing his offhand gun. This will make it easier for players to know which weapon he has lined up. In addition, Riot is lowering the range on Aphelios’ ultimate and increasing the contrast between colors, making it easier for players to differentiate between the champion’s ultimate effects. The turret visuals will also change according to its threat level, and there will be some additional nerfs as well.

Aphelios has been a popular pick since his release in December, despite Riot’s efforts to nerf him. In the most recent Patch 10.3, Riot capped the attack range on Aphelios’ Calibrum. However, players have continued to find success with him in both solo queue and professional play.

This has led to frustrations among League fans, especially when watching professional games. There is no clear indicator for when Aphelios is switching between weapons, making it difficult to anticipate his abilities. Casters have struggled to differentiate between the various weapons, causing confusion during teamfights.

This lack of clarity will be addressed in Patch 10.4 with the addition of an indicator on Aphelios’ health bar. Players will now know which weapon he has lined up, making it easier to predict his abilities and play against him. These changes will be available on the Public Beta Environment before being released on the live servers on Thursday, Feb. 20.
