G2 Esports Defeated by JD Gaming at League of Legends Worlds 2022

G2 Esports put up a strong fight in their third game at Worlds 2022, but ultimately fell to JD Gaming. Despite some promising moments, G2 couldn’t secure the win.

JDG, the LPL champions, were favored to win the matchup and have been considered favorites for the entire event. Although G2 had a slight advantage during the mid-game, JDG’s mistakes were not enough for G2 to pull ahead.

JDG started strong in the macro game, securing early kills in the bot lane. G2 managed to hold on with a surprise pick of Darius in the top lane and Jankos’ impressive skills on Graves. They took advantage of JDG’s positioning errors and secured a Baron Nashor.

However, JDG turned the tables during the fight for the fifth Dragon and Baron Nashor. G2 was caught off guard and their Nexus was destroyed, giving JDG the victory.

With this win, JDG secured the first place in Group B of Worlds 2022 Main Event. The remaining matches in the group will be played on Friday, Oct. 14.

There is another match scheduled for today, with Evil Geniuses facing off against DWG KIA. If Evil Geniuses win, three teams, EG, G2, and DK, will be tied for third place with a 1-2 score. The Korean side, DK, has a chance to claim second place if they defeat EG.
