Almost all teams have been set for the Challenger Series teams.

The Next Generation of League of Legends Professional Gamers Ready for Challenger Series

The Challenger Series is set to feature the next generation of League of Legends professional gamers. Last night, Dignitas EU, Denial, and Mousesports earned spots in the qualifying tournament in Europe. In North America, Misfits and Cloud9 Tempest also qualified, with Counter Logic Gaming Black and Magnetic set to compete for the final available spot. These teams will join Winterfox, Team Coast, and Final Five in North America, and Reason Gaming, Copenhagen Wolves Academy, and Gamers2 in Europe.

The Top Amateur Competition in League

The Challenger Series is often considered the top amateur competition in League. It determines which teams will qualify for the next season of the League Championship Series (LCS). The top team in Challenger is automatically promoted to the LCS, while the next two teams have the opportunity to earn promotion in best-of-five series against the weakest LCS squads.

Despite being labeled as amateurs, many players in the Challenger Series and qualifying tournament have professional contracts or have previously competed in the LCS.

Misfits and Cloud9 Tempest Make Their Mark

Misfits, led by team captain Alberto “Crumbzz” Rengifo and legendary player Alex Ichetovkin, is one of the teams to watch in North America. Cloud9 Tempest had to overcome adversity, with one of their players being suspended by Riot Games, but they managed to secure a position in the Challenger Series.

Dignitas and Denial Punch Their Tickets

In Europe, Dignitas earned their spot after a disappointing end to the Spring Split. Denial, built by former LCS pros Wickd and MrRalleZ, swept their way through the qualifier bracket to secure their position.

The Challenger Series is a highly competitive league with six teams in each region. The talent showcased in these tournaments represents the next generation of LCS professionals.
