Riot has filed a trademark for a new tabletop game called Tellstones: King’s Gambit, and it’s finally coming into fruition. Tellstones is a game of bluffing, strategy, and recollection. However, we still don’t know all the details about the game.

Tellstones in League’s Patch 9.20:
To celebrate League’s 10th anniversary, new loading screen tips were added in Patch 9.20, mentioning Tellstones as a fictional game in the world of Runeterra. The tips revealed that King Santon of Demacia used Tellstones to avoid civil war and that Demacians play a variant called “King’s Gambit”. Despite its popularity, the origin of Tellstones is unknown. The Dauntless Vanguard also has their own version of Tellstones to settle disputes.

What the Tellstones trademark tells us:
Riot has previously created the tabletop game Mechs vs. Minions, which sold out quickly. The Tellstones trademark suggests that there may be plans for a digital version of the game, along with the physical tabletop version.
