Kayle Rework Boosts Winrate and Meta Presence
Kayle in League of Legends has quickly risen to the top of the win rate charts, as revealed by recent data from analytics site champion.gg.
In the platinum division and higher, Kayle’s win rate has seen a significant increase since her recent rework. In patch 9.4, she had a win rate of 49.65 percent, but in patch 9.6, her win rate has risen to 55.44 percent.
A Shift in Kayle’s Playstyle
Kayle’s playstyle has undergone a shift, which has affected her position in the meta. She has transformed from a niche pick to one of the strongest scaling champions in the game.
Her passive has been completely reworked, causing her to evolve as the game progresses. At level 11, she becomes a champion with the potential to carry her teammates. However, she is heavily dependent on leveling up and is intentionally weak in the early stages of the game.
Kayle’s Presence in the Laning Phase
Contrary to expectations, Kayle has proven to be more difficult to abuse in the laning phase. This allows her to safely farm minions and accumulate gold until she reaches her power spike in the mid to late game. Although she still lacks early kill potential, she can patiently wait by her tower and scale.
The Unstoppable Hyper Carry
Once Kayle reaches level 11 and her Arisen passive kicks in, she becomes an immediate threat due to her long range and bonus attack speed. In the late game, she becomes an unstoppable hyper carry.
Responding to Kayle’s increased win rate, Riot Games plans to implement nerfs. They will decrease her AP and AD scaling per level and switch her default adaptive damage from AP to AD. These changes are expected to decrease her late game potential and make her more reliant on items.
