Afreeca Freecs defeat Team Dynamics in week 8 of LCK Summer Split

Afreeca Freecs Secure Win Against Team Dynamics in 2020 LCK Summer Split

Afreeca Freecs (AFS) secured another victory today in the 2020 LCK Summer Split, defeating Team Dynamics 2-1. The top laner, Kiin, and jungler, Spirit, were the standout performers for AFS, receiving the Player of the Game awards for their performances on Akali and Trundle, respectively.

Close First Game

The first game started out even for both League of Legends teams. Team Dynamics, ranked eighth, put up a strong fight against AFS, who are playoff contenders. Team Dynamics responded to every move made by AFS with force.

The game remained close throughout, with both teams on the verge of securing the Mountain Dragon Soul buff. Despite an initially successful teamfight for the buff by Team Dynamics, Kiin’s impressive moves on Akali sealed their fate. AFS capitalized on this crucial victory and pushed to end the game.

DYN’s Comeback in the Second Game

After the first game, AFS became overconfident and first picked Karthus in the second draft phase. Team Dynamics countered this pick with a composition focused on shields, including Karma in the mid lane and Lux in the bottom lane.

Team Dynamics’ superior drafting phase allowed them to scale into the mid-to-late game. Although Karthus dealt the most damage on the AFS team, it wasn’t enough to carry them, even with the Infernal Soul against Team Dynamics’ composition.

AFS Achieve Decisive Victory in the Third Game

The third game was a dominant performance by AFS. They secured kills left and right, snowballing out of control. However, they neglected to prioritize the elemental dragons, allowing Team Dynamics to pick up multiple dragons in their quest for the Infernal Dragon Soul.

Despite Team Dynamics being one dragon away from the crucial buff, they couldn’t defend against AFS’ relentless pressure. At one point in the game, AFS had a massive 13,000 gold lead.

AFS’ Impressive Record and Upcoming Matches

With this win, AFS improves to 8-6 in the 2020 LCK Summer Split, while Team Dynamics drops to 4-10. AFS will be back in action next week with two matches against T1 and Sandbox Gaming. You can tune in on Thursday, Aug. 13 and Saturday, Aug. 15 to see if AFS can maintain their consistency and secure a playoff spot.
