Adrian Set to Depart as Team Impulse Turns to Divinity

Team Impulse is Negotiating with New Jungler

Sources close to Team Impulse reveal that support Adrian “Adrian” Ma is potentially leaving the League Championship Series side. The organization is currently in talks with Simon “heavenTime” Jeon, former jungler for Final Five and LoLPro, who has been actively seeking a role change for the past month. Jeon is aiming to start playing with the team within the next week.

Team Impulse’s search for a replacement

Initially, Team Impulse approached support Kevin “KonKwon” Kwon. However, Kwon was unable to switch teams due to his existing contract with Team Coast. Afterward, the organization turned to Jeon, who, like Kwon, is fluent in Korean.

Struggles of Team Impulse

This split has been challenging for Team Impulse, as they currently hold sixth place in the North American LCS with a 5-5 record. In the previous Spring split, the team finished in fourth place after losing to Team Liquid in the third place match.

The restructuring of Team Impulse

Last year, during the 2015 preseason in October and November, Team Impulse underwent a major restructuring. The all-Chinese squad LMQ split after their return from the 2014 World Championship, with jungler Zhou “NoName” Qi-Lin retiring and top laner Xiao “ackerman” Wang, marksman Li “Vasilli” Wei-Jun, and support Zhang “Mor” Hong-Wei returning to China. Mid laner Yu “XiaoWeiXiao” Xian remained in North America, and the team added Ma and jungler Lee “Rush” Yoon-jae, rebranding as Team Impulse on Dec. 27. They later recruited marksman Apollo “Apollo” Price (formerly known as “WizFujiiN”) and 2013 World Champion top laner Jung “Impact” Eon-yeong.

Adrian Ma’s background

Prior to joining Team Impulse, Ma was a student at Robert Morris University, where he played for the school’s League of Legends team, which was one of the first collegiate esports programs in the country.
