Abilities of Senna, the champion, are now unveiled

League of Legends’ Newest Champion, Senna: Abilities Revealed

League of Legends’ newest champion, Senna, has finally had her abilities unveiled. She falls somewhere between a support and a marksman, with a range of abilities that can aid allies and bring down enemies with a single shot. Note that these ability names are not official and may change when Riot officially reveals the new champion.

Senna’s passive ability is called Absolution. When enemies are tagged by the Mist from her W ability, she can attack them to absorb the Mist and enhance her auto attacks and her Q ability. The range, attack damage, and critical strike chance of both abilities scale with how much Mist she has absorbed. This means that as the game progresses, Senna will be able to poke at enemies from a greater distance.

Senna’s Q ability, Piercing Darkness, is quite similar to her husband Lucian’s Q ability. It fires a shot that heals her allies, including herself, if the projectile passes through them. At the same time, it damages enemies. This ability is a line skillshot that can target both allies and enemies, but it must be targeted. Senna can also target towers and wards to hit champions outside of her targeting range, but within the ability’s range, or champions that are invisible to take a shot at them in the dark.

Senna’s W ability is a line skillshot that marks an enemy with Mist. After a few seconds, the Mist detonates and roots all nearby enemies. This ability is particularly useful in lane as it limits the ability of opponents with mobility to protect themselves or their teammates. It synergizes well with her Q ability, allowing Senna to maximize the healing and damage components of the ability.

Senna’s E ability, Curse of the Black Mist, could be one of the most powerful abilities in League of Legends. When cast, she camouflages herself with mist in a radius around her, making her invisible to enemies. The movement speed buff and camouflage also apply to all allies within the radius. This ability allows Senna to quickly save a teammate from an incoming gank. Notably, when allies leave the cloud of mist, they appear as ghostly phantoms that cannot be attacked or targeted until they attack or come within a certain radius of an enemy.

Senna’s ultimate ability, tentatively named Shadow of the Dawn, is a powerful version of her Q ability. It is a global ray that shields allies caught in the blast while dealing heavy damage to enemies. This ability has incredible potential in teamfights as it can turn the tide of battle by simultaneously damaging enemies and shielding allies.

Senna will soon be available for testing on the PBE. However, given the utility and potential of her kit, there may be significant adjustments to her abilities before she is released on the live servers.

According to Riot developer August Browning, Riot is happy for Senna to straddle the line between a marksman and a support. However, when it comes to balancing changes, support Senna will always take priority.
