Aatrox’s inclusion in upcoming update officially announced

Aatrox Set to Receive Highly-Anticipated Rework

Aatrox is set to receive a highly-anticipated rework in a future update focused on “diver” champions, according to Andrei “Meddler” van Roon, Riot’s lead champion designer. However, it is unlikely that these changes will occur in the immediate future, with most speculating that the end of this season or even season eight is the most probable timeframe.

In previous statements from Meddler, both Aatrox and Wukong were mentioned to be part of this update, but Aatrox’s involvement was not confirmed until now.

Improvements for Aatrox Players

“We’ll almost certainly do an Aatrox update when we do a diver class update,” Meddler said. “I would like to find some small stuff to improve him in the meantime. We’ve been testing some changes, but we haven’t yet found a set that we think would make him healthier and provide an overall improvement for Aatrox players.”

This news is exciting for those who have been longing to see “The Dark Blade” return in some form. However, specific details about the changes are still unknown at this time.

Aatrox’s Decline in the Competitive Scene

Aatrox burst onto the scene upon his release, but he has since fallen down the ranks of competitive champions. His kit is considered outdated and outclassed by many other champions in the game.
