A Single LoL Champion Holds a Perfect Pick and Ban Rate in Worlds 2023 Swiss Stage

Worlds 2023 Sees Orianna Dominate the Swiss Stage

The meta at Worlds 2023 has undergone a significant shift due to recent patches released by Riot Games. As a result, only one champion has maintained a perfect 100 percent presence in the Swiss stage of the tournament.

Orianna is that champion, being the sole pick and ban choice in all games played during the Swiss stage. According to Oracle’s Elixir, a League of Legends stat site, Orianna has been picked 10 times and banned in the remaining 15.

This comes as no surprise to those following Worlds 2023. Control mages have gained immense popularity in Patch 13.19, the version being played at the tournament. Orianna, in particular, has become a favorite among mid laners. Her ultimate ability, Shockwave, can turn the tide of a game when utilized strategically.

In addition to Orianna, other control mages also rank highly in pick and ban rate for mid laners at Worlds 2023. Azir, Neeko, and Taliyah all make it to the top five, as reported by Oracle’s Elixir.

Even though the tournament is still ongoing, a few champions have already gained significant popularity at Worlds 2023. Xayah and Kalista stand out, both tied for second place in pick and ban percentage. However, Xayah has been played 14 times, while Kalista has only been picked three times but faced numerous bans.

The Swiss stage of Worlds 2023 wraps up on Monday, October 23, with teams resuming action for round four on October 26.
