A previously underrated jungler dominates LoL solo queue after receiving significant buffs

Kha’Zix Dominates League of Legends Jungle Meta: Highest Win Rate in Nearly a Year

The jungle meta in League of Legends is in constant flux, adapting to gameplay adjustments and changes in game tempo. In this ever-shifting landscape, one champion has consistently risen above the rest—a pesky bug known as Kha’Zix.

Kha’Zix has undergone numerous changes in recent patches, most of which have been buffs in response to player complaints about Riot’s treatment of the Voidreaver. Just one week into Patch 13.9, Kha’Zix now reigns supreme in the jungle meta across all skill divisions of solo queue. With a ban rate of 27.92 percent, pick rate of 15.55 percent, and win rate of 51.53 percent, according to OP.GG, Kha’Zix is experiencing his highest levels of success in nearly a year.

How Kha’Zix Became Jungle Royalty

The attention surrounding Kha’Zix within the League community began with Riot’s patch preview for Patch 13.7 in late March. The changes listed appeared to hinder some of Kha’Zix’s abilities, but ultimately had little impact on his standing in the meta. However, Patch 13.8 brought a buff to his Q ability, his main source of damage. It was then that players started to witness the true power of these combined adjustments.

Kha’Zix: The Early-Gank King

Thanks to these buffs, Kha’Zix has become the go-to early-gank jungler. Securing kills in the first few minutes of the game allows him to snowball and evolve his abilities, ultimately dominating the rest of the match. Pair this with the First Strike keystone, and Kha’Zix can amass a significant amount of gold by eliminating unsuspecting prey in the jungle, even without vision.

Kha’Zix’s prowess was showcased in the first week of this year’s MSI, where G2 Esports utilized the bug to secure a crucial victory over PSG Talon, propelling them to the last-chance qualifier.

No Nerfs in Sight: Kha’Zix Likely to Stay on Top

Riot has not indicated any plans to nerf the Voidreaver, so it’s highly probable that players will continue to encounter Kha’Zix in their solo queue drafts, whether as a pick or ban.
