2023 LCS Roster Updates: Major Player Changes for NA Teams before Pivotal Season

The League of Legends competitive season has ended, with DRX winning the 2022 World Championship. Now, teams around the world are preparing for the offseason.

In North America, the region’s representatives had a tough time at Worlds, going 3-15. Despite this, the LCS is looking stronger than ever for 2023. Teams like Dignitas and FlyQuest, who were previously in the middle of the pack, are trending upward. 100 Thieves and Cloud9 have also made changes to their rosters after disappointing international performances.

This free agency period marks a new era for North American League of Legends, with top teams scaling down, mid-tier organizations trying to break into the upper echelon, and more.

100 Thieves

  • Oct. 17: PapaSmithy leaves 100T.
  • Nov. 1: Closer and Abbedagge reportedly leaving for free agency.
  • Nov. 7: Reapered leaves 100T.
  • Nov. 8: Doublelift reportedly returning to pro play with Spica, Bjergsen, and Busio as potential teammates.
  • Nov. 11: JungleJuice becomes the team’s new general manager.
  • Nov. 14: Unforgiven reportedly joining 100T from MAD Lions.
  • Dec. 8: 100T confirms the additions of Bjergsen and Doublelift, and promotes Busio and Tenacity to the starting lineup for 2023.

Cloud9

  • Nov. 3: C9 reportedly signs Diplex and EMENES for Academy team.
  • Nov. 17: Jensen reportedly joining Dignitas as the new mid laner for 2023.
  • Nov. 24: C9 confirms Fudge, Blaber, Diplex, Berserker, and Zven for the 2023 roster.

  • CLG retains entire 2022 roster for next year.

Dignitas

  • Oct. 3: AD carry Neo departs.
