2019 Summer Week 3 LCS Power Rankings

After three weeks of play in the LCS, the standings are a mess. Currently, six teams are tied for first place with 4-2 records, while Clutch Gaming follows closely behind at 3-3. At the bottom, the three last place teams are also tied with just one win each.

To make sense of this chaos, we’ve compiled power rankings with the help of our analysts. Each team was ranked on a scale of one to ten, with one being the worst and ten being the best. Surprisingly, despite the close standings, we were mostly in agreement with only two teams tied in votes.

6)CLG25
7)Clutch Gaming20
8)FlyQuest16
9)100 Thieves9
10)Echo Fox7

Now let’s break down how we got to this point.

FlyQuest, 100 Thieves, Echo Fox

This split has been a disappointment for FlyQuest. After their strong performance in the Spring Split playoffs, many expected them to crack the top two or three. However, the Summer Split has been a disaster for them. While their loss to Team Liquid was expected, their loss to Clutch Gaming was a surprise considering the advantage they had in the lane phase. FlyQuest struggled whenever Clutch Gaming grouped up, which is a common strategy in the region.

100 Thieves finally picked up a win against Echo Fox. However, Echo Fox is currently struggling and doesn’t seem to have a plan when it comes to their roster. If 100 Thieves want to continue winning, they need to prioritize mid lane and look for other areas, such as their underperforming bot lane, to improve.

Golden Guardians, OpTic Gaming, CLG, Clutch

These teams are closely matched, which is why we’ve grouped them together. Golden Guardians and CLG perform well when they have comfort picks and aren’t pressured in the early game. Clutch Gaming, on the other hand, focus on fighting and flanking with teleports, which is effective in the current meta. OpTic Gaming had a rough week with two losses but showed promise by winning a Baron against Team Liquid. It seems like they can compete with the top teams in the region.

Liquid, C9, TSM

These three teams are still considered the best in the region. However, they need to start taking things seriously. TSM had a great week, defeating Cloud9 by capitalizing on their mid laner’s suboptimal champion choice. Team Liquid has some issues to address, such as giving up Baron in their games and having inconsistent vision control. They need to clean up their gameplay to stay on top.

And that’s where we stand for now in the LCS. Exciting matchups await in the upcoming weeks. Stay tuned!
