2 League of Legends champions continue to struggle in solo queue despite significant changes in Patch 13.12

Riot Games made adjustments to two champions in League of Legends with Patch 13.12 on June 14. However, their win rates in solo queue have not been impressive.

Lucian and Rumble underwent significant changes in their gameplay. Lucian’s passive was altered, while Rumble received several tweaks that transformed him into an AP bruiser. Sadly, Rumble still has a mediocre win rate of 48.85% in all ranks, and Lucian’s win rate dropped to 48.14%, according to stats from U.GG.

Before the changes, Lucian was performing slightly better, while Rumble was in a poor state. Lucian had a decent win rate of 49.96% in all ranks in the previous patch. On the other hand, Rumble had a terrible win rate of only 46.61% in the top lane, making him the second-worst champion in that role.

When examining the changes themselves, it’s evident why the champions’ performance shifted in Patch 13.12. Lucian’s passive now deals less damage and doesn’t provide bonus magic damage as frequently, which significantly affects his laning phase and late-game teamfights.

Rumble underwent multiple changes to each of his abilities, making him more viable as an AP bruiser in the current meta. Although his win rate improved slightly, it remains relatively low. However, many players seem content with the rework, as seen from the reactions on the Rumble mains subreddit.

With the patch being live for only two days at the time of publishing, it’s possible that both Lucian and Rumble’s statistics will change once players become more accustomed to their new kits.
