100 Thieves General Manager PapaSmithy provides update on Meteos and Stunt being benched

100 Thieves Addresses Benching of Meteos

In response to former LCS jungler Meteos’ announcement that he had been benched and his teammates were not in agreement with the decision, 100 Thieves general manager Christopher “PapaSmithy” Smith has addressed the matter.

PapaSmithy stated that 100 Thieves has discussed various scenarios with Meteos to accommodate his needs, such as utilizing a six-man LCS roster, playing in the Academy League, or exploring other opportunities within or outside of 100 Thieves.

In a now-deleted tweet, Meteos mentioned that the players on the team were unaware of and did not agree with the decision. He sarcastically suggested that those not on the team would know what is best for it, and tagged PapaSmithy, 100T head coach Anthony “Zikz” Gray, and strategic coach Joseph “JungleJuice” Jang.

Meteos, a veteran jungler, previously played for 100 Thieves in 2018 but was traded to FlyQuest early on in the Summer Split. He rejoined 100 Thieves in November 2019 and reunited with former teammates Ssumday and Cody Sun.

In addition to Meteos, support Stunt has also been benched by 100 Thieves, with Academy support Philippe “Poome” Lavoie-Giguere being promoted to the main roster. Poome had joined 100 Thieves’ amateur program at the beginning of the season.

After a 1-5 start in the LCS Summer Split, 100 Thieves is currently tied for eighth place. Their most recent match against TSM, which lasted 48 minutes, resulted in a heartbreaking loss due to several misplays.

100 Thieves will debut their new lineup featuring Contractz and Poome on the July 3 edition of Friday Night League against Golden Guardians.
