100 Thieves dominate Cloud9, get closer to first place in LCS Spring Split

100 Thieves Dominates Cloud9 in LCS Spring Split Playoff Race

In a battle for one of the top seeds in the LCS Spring Split playoffs, 100 Thieves delivered a crushing victory over first-place Cloud9, tightening the race for the top spot in the bracket. With a winning streak now stretching to an impressive seven games, 100 Thieves steamrolled Cloud9 in just over 28 minutes.

During today’s game, 100 Thieves dominated the early stages, securing 10 kills while Cloud9 managed only one by the 16-minute mark. The final kill score was a staggering 28 to six in favor of 100 Thieves. The team’s AD carry, FBI, stood out with a remarkable scoreline of 11/0/10, recording his highest kill count in a single game since last March, according to League stats site Games of Legends.

On the other side of the Rift, C9’s top laner, Summit, had a rough game, finishing with a scoreline of 0/8/1. Despite being an early-season MVP candidate, Summit was repeatedly shut down by 100 Thieves, falling behind in the early game and failing to make a comeback in the mid-game. Games of Legends data shows that Summit has suffered eight or more deaths in only three of the 111 games he has played in 2021 and 2022.

Both C9 and 100 Thieves have already secured playoff spots, but the race for a top seed is heating up as the Spring Split approaches its final weekend. 100 Thieves’ strong performance in the latter half of the split puts them in a prime position to potentially secure a top seed in the playoff bracket.

Despite today’s victory, 100 Thieves are still one game behind Cloud9 and Team Liquid in first place. Team Liquid’s win over Dignitas earlier today has created a tie for the top spot in the LCS. 100 Thieves will face off against Dignitas tomorrow in their final game of the Spring Split, while Cloud9 aims to bounce back against FlyQuest.
