100 Thieves’ Busio Reflects on Debut Year in LCS, Aims for MVP Title over Most Valuable Rookie

Busio Struggles but Finds Fun in LCS Summer Split

Busio, the support player for 100 Thieves, faced frustration as the team struggled throughout the shortened 2023 LCS Summer Split. With only three weeks left, the team had earned just four shaky victories, putting their qualification for the LCS Championship bracket at risk.

Despite his rookie year learnings and off-stage preparation, Busio took the team’s slump personally. As a young player who had previously been a leader on his team, he struggled to find his voice among veteran LCS talent. This led to stiff performances as he tried to adjust to different game plans.

However, in the final weeks of the split, the team addressed their communication issues, giving 100 Thieves a path to the playoffs. This shift in the team’s dynamic allowed Busio to appreciate his role in the competition once again and have more fun on stage.

Busio acknowledged his performance struggles in the middle of the season but credited one game with helping him bounce back. He also expressed the importance of having more fun during stage games and remaining loose.

Team Liquid’s Yeon Named Most Valuable Rookie

In this debut year, Busio reflected on the past several months, noting that his performances in the last eight weeks and playoffs were stronger overall. However, he still felt he hadn’t met his own expectations as one of the most valuable prospects in the Academy scene. Busio recognizes that he has to continue grinding to reach his full potential within the LCS.

Yeon from Team Liquid was named the most valuable rookie of the year, a feat that didn’t surprise Busio. Instead, he saw it as further motivation to work harder and strive to be the best version of himself.

Busio’s LCS Journey and Future Plans

Despite not achieving the rookie of the year award, Busio’s first year in the LCS brought several accomplishments. He successfully qualified for and competed in both playoff brackets, playing alongside renowned LCS players. These experiences and challenges have become valuable learning opportunities for Busio.

Looking back on the past eight months, Busio has no regrets about his on-stage performances. He sees every misplay and defeat as a chance to learn and improve. As he enters the offseason, Busio is determined to put in the work necessary to showcase his true potential.

While uncertain about his immediate future, Busio plans to continue playing solo queue and enjoying the game. He understands the importance of maintaining good habits and staying updated with professional League of Legends matches. The upcoming LCS Championship bracket, taking place in Newark, New Jersey, will determine which teams advance to the World Championship in South Korea.

As of now, 100 Thieves has not made any changes to its LCS roster. However, the organization has shown a willingness to make adjustments when necessary in its pursuit of the LCS trophy.
