League of Legends Patch 13.16 Buffs Revealed: Caitlyn, Milio, Lucian, and Wukong Among Champions Getting a Boost
League of Legends developers at Riot Games are gearing up for Patch 13.16, set to release on August 16. This patch will bring a massive list of buffs, with 10 champions receiving boosts, including Akali, Brand, and Ekko. Additionally, there will be changes to various assassin items.
The details of the buffs were shared by Riot lead designer Matt “Phroxzon” Leung-Harrison in a patch preview on Twitter on August 8. While some champions on the buffs list have not received attention for a while, others will see recent changes reversed as they did not have the desired impact as intended by Riot.
Caitlyn, in particular, was mentioned by Phroxzon. Patch 13.15 provided a slight boost to her critical chance with abilities like Headshot and Ace in the Hole ultimate. However, Phroxzon deemed this boost insufficient and the balance team was not satisfied with Caitlyn’s state. Therefore, she will receive another buff in the upcoming patch.
Phroxzon also mentioned a few champions who had been overnerfed. Milio, for example, experienced significant changes to his abilities in patches 13.12 and 13.15, greatly impacting his viability in competitive play. According to stats site U.GG, Milio’s win rate dropped from above average to a dismal 46.9% in patch 13.15. Phroxzon hopes that a slight reversal in the upcoming patch will help regain popularity for the Gentle Flame.
Lucian and Wukong faced nerfs during Season 13, particularly Wukong, who suffered a reduction in Nimbus Strike damage against monsters, resulting in slower jungle clear speed. Lucian’s win rate also dropped significantly following the nerfs in patch 13.12. He has yet to recover from this decline.
Other champions receiving buffs in Patch 13.16 include Brand, Karma, and Ekko, who have not seen many balance adjustments recently. Sylas will also have his first proper adjustment since September 2022, focusing on bug fixing.
Additionally, Akali, who will receive her seventh consecutive buff, and Lulu will be among the champions receiving buffs in patch 13.16. Phroxzon also mentioned that a few assassin items will receive buffs, including Axiom Arc, Serpent’s Fang, Prowler’s Claw, and Umbral Glaive, compensating for the nerf to Duskblade of Draktharr.
League Patch 13.16 is scheduled to go live on August 16.
