European Safer Gambling Week Promotes Responsible Gaming
This year’s European Safer Gambling Week (ESGW) is taking place from 13-19 November. The annual initiative, coordinated by the European Gaming and Betting Association (EGBA), aims to raise awareness about safer gambling practices across Europe. Here are five important things you need to know about this industry-led awareness campaign:
- ESGW is an industry-led awareness initiative: ESBW is a collaborative effort involving the EGBA, its members, operators, and national associations. This dedicated week brings the European gaming industry together to share important information with customers and promote safer gambling practices. With the support of 18 associations, operators, and some national authorities, the initiative aims to foster responsible gaming.
- The priority is to promote safer gambling to customers: Throughout the week, operators across Europe will communicate with their customers, providing practical advice, tips, and resources to help them play safely. The focus is on enabling customers to stay in better control of their gambling by offering tools, helplines, and other support services.
- There will be many free events across Europe: The week provides an opportunity to discuss the latest safer gambling initiatives, regulations, and research. Stakeholders across Europe can participate in various free events, gaining insights, learning about best practices, and staying updated on recent developments in safer gambling.
- A social media campaign is happening – and you can participate too: Industry stakeholders are invited to join EGBA and its members in promoting safer gambling through a social media campaign. Translated social media graphics have been developed for many countries to support this effort. Stakeholders can share safety messages with their customers and audiences, contributing to the overall awareness campaign.
