DreamHack Expands to Stockholm in 2024
DreamHack, a popular gaming festival, will be making its way to Stockholm, Sweden in 2024. As the gaming capital of Scandinavia, Stockholm is the perfect location for this renowned event. The festival, which started in Sweden in 1994, will take place at Stockholmsmässan from November 22nd to 24th, 2024.
With its global appeal, DreamHack has attracted gamers from all over the world and has hosted events in various cities, including San Diego, Melbourne, India, and Tokyo. Now, it’s coming back to its roots and bringing the festival full circle by returning to Sweden. DreamHack Stockholm is expected to become the ultimate gaming destination of the year.
Shahin Zarrabi, Vice President of Festivals at ESL FACEIT Group, expressed his excitement about bringing DreamHack to Stockholm. He believes that gaming truly belongs in the city and that the festival will add a unique thread to Stockholm’s cultural tapestry. From content creators and cosplayers to the newest games and hardware, DreamHack Stockholm aims to be an inclusive arena for everyone to celebrate their gaming community.
By hosting DreamHack Stockholm, the festival organizers plan to enhance the gaming experience by leveraging international connections and utilizing Stockholmsmässan, the largest exhibition facility in the Nordic region. Stockholm is known for its significant contribution to the gaming industry, being a hub for game development and the birthplace of iconic titles like Minecraft, Battlefield, and Candy Crush.
Staffan Ingvarsson, CEO of Stockholm Business Region, highlighted the cultural exchange and entrepreneurship promoted by DreamHack. He sees the festival as an opportunity to reinforce Stockholm’s reputation as a progressive and welcoming destination for the gaming community. Christian Clemens, CEO of Stockholmsmässan, also expressed his excitement about hosting DreamHack Stockholm and the chance to create new interests for young people in gaming and esports activities.

The festival plans to partner with various organizations, including returning presenting partner Elgiganten, to offer diverse experiences.
