Ludwig Raises Over $314,000 for Charity in 50-Hour Stream
Last weekend, Ludwig attempted to replicate his famous record-breaking subathon stream with a couple of twists. Instead of an uncapped Twitch stream, he raised money for charities over 50 hours. The stream took place in a glass box at DreamHack Atlanta, where Ludwig surpassed his goal of $300,000, raising a total of $314,256.54 for the Alveus Sanctuary and No Kid Hungry.
Ludwig’s Viewership Numbers
Analytics firm Stream Hatchet released a graphic showing Ludwig’s viewership spread over the weekend. While he didn’t reach the same level as his previous subathon on Twitch, the shorter event still saw impressive figures.
The stream accumulated 882,000 hours watched and reached a peak of 57,500 viewers. On average, Ludwig had nearly 18,000 viewers throughout the event.
The Evolution of Ludwig’s Subathons
In comparison to his previous subathon that lasted 31 days, Ludwig’s recent stream was not about breaking records. Instead, it focused on supporting charity and evolving the concept. While the YouTube stream may have had fewer viewers than Twitch, it successfully surpassed its charitable goals.
However, it’s important to note that labeling it a “subathon” invites comparisons to Ludwig’s previous record-breaking stream. While it may not have reached the same level of success, it still achieved its intended purpose and raised a significant amount of money for charity.
