Rocket League’s Thrilling Finale Demonstrates the Greatness of Competitive Gaming

Rocket League’s Esports Future Looks Bright with Developer-Supported League

The future of esports in Rocket League is looking promising with the introduction of a developer-supported $75,000 league. The recent final of the Rocket League Central Pro League showcased the thrilling nature of competitive Rocket League.

High Stakes in the Grand Final

While the $5,333 prize pool may seem small compared to other esports tournaments, it was one of the biggest in the game to date. This attracted the best teams in Rocket League to compete in the grand final of the Rocket League Central Pro League.

Intense Competition in the Tournament

After a demanding 30-game regular season, eight teams advanced to the single-elimination playoffs, including sponsored teams like iBUYPOWER Cosmic and Flipsid3 Tactics.

Flipsid3 Tactics, being one of the game’s most prestigious teams, unsurprisingly made it to the best-of-nine final against the German side Crown and Jewels in an epic match.

An Exciting Final Showdown

Flipsid3 dominated the early games and took a 4-2 lead, but Crown and Jewels’ player “Sikii” had other plans. With just 33 seconds remaining in game seven, Sikii scored a buzzer beater to send the game into overtime. Crown and Jewels ultimately won the game and went on to dominate game eight, leveling the series.

In the final game, Flipsid3 once again took the lead and were up 2-1. However, another last-second goal by Crown and Jewels forced a final overtime. Crown and Jewels secured the title with a spectacular goal, showcasing the high-skill nature of the competition.

Looking Ahead to the RLCS

Both teams are eagerly awaiting the start of the RLCS, a $75,000 pro league supported by developer Psyonix. If the games in this tournament are anything to go by, the RLCS has the potential to attract a larger audience to the game.
