Sony and Insomniac Games collaborate with Psyonix for a New Rocket League Bundle
The highly anticipated console-exclusive Rocket League bundle is set to debut soon with a partnership between Sony Interactive Entertainment, Insomniac Games, and Psyonix. The new bundle features characters from the iconic Ratchet & Clank franchise.
Beginning on Aug. 18, players on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 can download the Ratchet & Clank bundle for free after installing Rocket League on their preferred console.
The bundle includes various exclusive items for players, such as the Ratchet & Clank Punk Decal for Octane, Negatron Collider Boost, Clank Balloon Topper, and Ratchet Balloon Topper.
Jeremy Dunham, the product and content strategy director at Psyonix, expressed excitement about collaborating with Insomniac to create engaging content for the PlayStation community. Dunham stated, “We’re big fans of Ratchet & Clank here at Psyonix, and it’s one of PlayStation’s most iconic franchises.”
As with previous console-exclusive items like the Mario, Luigi, and Samus Gunship skins for Nintendo Switch, these Ratchet & Clank items will likely only be available for use on the PlayStation version of Rocket League. In cross-play, these items typically appear as standard models for non-PlayStation players.
Players can download the Ratchet & Clank bundle on both PlayStation consoles from Aug. 18 to Jan. 3, 2022. After that, it will be removed from the Rocket League content vault.
Additionally, an update for Rocket League on PS5 will also launch on Aug. 18. This update enables players to enjoy the game at 120hz and customize their experience further with a new “Video Quality” setting that allows them to choose between quality or performance mode.
