Rocket League gears up for season 4 debut with casual and competitive updates on Aug. 11

Rocket League Season 4 Update: Outlaw Cars, New Arena, and Competitive Enhancements

Rocket League is gearing up for the highly anticipated season four update, set to launch on August 11. This update will introduce exciting features such as a new car, a brand new arena, competitive updates, and more.

Inspired by the Wild West, players can now ride in style with the new Outlaw model, while enjoying over 70 new tiers in the Rocket Pass and Rocket Pass Premium. To further enhance the Wild West experience, the new arena, Deadeye Canyon, provides a fresh yet dusty playground for intense matches.

One of the key additions in season four is the expansion of Competitive Tournaments. Psyonix has added new options for two-vs-two and Extra Mode tournaments. Additionally, tournament rewards and other elements have been refreshed and improved for a more satisfying experience.

Starting on August 12, players can also dive into featured limited-time modes. Two-vs-two Heatseeker will kick things off, followed by Speed Demon on August 19, where mutators and the speed of Boomer Ball create an exhilarating experience. Later in the month, Spring Loaded will be added to the playlist.

In response to copyright protection concerns, Psyonix is introducing a Safe Music feature for streamers. This new audio setting automatically filters copyrighted music in Rocket League, preventing potential DMCA violations and ensuring content creators can stream without worry.

Ranked playlists in the new season will also implement undersized party restrictions. For competitive modes like Ranked three-vs-three, parties must now consist of players within three ranks of each other. This change aims to prevent solo queuers from being paired with two-player stacks that may feature under-ranked players, ensuring fair matchmaking.

This change will not affect parties queuing up for two-vs-two modes or any casual or Extra Mode playlists.

Casual matches are receiving some improvements as well. Players now have the ability to forfeit games, and other changes have been implemented to address the issue of players leaving mid-match. Continuous abandonment of matches will result in matchmaking bans and penalties, with escalating severity for repeat offenders.

The season four update will be available for all players on August 11 at 10am CT. The game update will be accessible from 6pm CT on August 10 onwards.
