NA and EU to Host $50,000 Fusion Rocket League Tournament

Fusion Rocket League Tournament Introduces Unique Format and $50,000 Prize Pool

Fusion Rocket League has made a splash in the competitive scene with an innovative tournament that allows players from North America and Europe to compete in three different game modes (three-vs-three, two-vs-two, and one-vs-one) for a chance to win a share of the $50,000 prize pool.

Unlike other tournaments, Fusion Rocket League does not split the game modes into separate competitions. Instead, each team will play in all three types, with the remaining games chosen based on the standings. This format will be utilized in the qualifiers.

The independent Major tournament will take place from May 21 to June 7, starting with open qualifiers and moving into the main tournament brackets on May 25. The qualifiers will follow a double elimination, best-of-five format, with the top eight teams advancing to the main event.

Teams have the freedom to choose any combination of their active players for each game mode, and there are no restrictions on how many times a mode can be selected. For example, if both teams prefer playing three-vs-three, they can both choose that mode if the series permits it.

Here is the breakdown of the series format for the qualifiers:

  • Game 1: Three-vs-three
  • Game 2: Two-vs-two
  • Game 3: One-vs-one
  • Game 4: Losing team’s choice
  • Game 5: Other team’s choice

In the main tournament, teams will earn points based on their performance in each of the three game mode types. Separate 3v3, 2v2, and 1v1 brackets will be implemented, with each featuring single elimination, best-of-seven series.

First place will receive 17 points, second place will earn 11 points, and teams in both third and fourth place will receive seven points each. These points will determine the overall tournament standings, and any ties will result in equal prize distribution among the tied teams.

Both the North America and Europe main tournaments will span approximately one week each, with NA running from May 25 to 31 and EU taking place from June 1 to 7. The tournaments will be live-streamed on tournament organizer and RL caster John “Johnnyboi_i” MacDonald’s Twitch channel.
