Epic Games acquires Psyonix, the developers behind Rocket League

Rocket League Joins Epic Games

Psyonix’s popular game Rocket League is now officially a part of Epic Games.

The acquisition is expected to be completed by the end of May to early June of this year, pending customary closing conditions.

Psyonix shared in an announcement that they are “officially joining the Epic Games family,” marking a significant milestone for the company and the Rocket League community.

Psyonix reassured players that the same team will continue working on the game, with no immediate changes in sight. However, they anticipate that the partnership with Epic will help them “grow the game in ways we couldn’t do on our own before.”

Epic Games will also acquire all assets related to the Rocket League esports ecosystem. The financial details of the acquisition have not been disclosed at this time.
