Cross-platform play feature disabled for Rocket League on Nintendo Switch

Rocket League Cross-Platform Play Temporarily Disabled on Nintendo Switch

The option for cross-platform play in Rocket League has been disabled on the Nintendo Switch, but it will be available once patch 1.44 is live on the platform. The release date for this update has yet to be announced.

Cross-platform play allows Switch owners to play with or against players who have Rocket League on PC and Xbox One. This feature has been available since the game’s release last year.

However, the PS4 is currently the only system that does not support cross-play with other systems. Sony has stated that this decision was a commercial one made in collaboration with their stakeholders.

Meanwhile, patch 1.44 is primarily a bug-fix patch, addressing performance and server issues. It will specifically fix the memory leak bug on the Nintendo Switch that was causing game crashes. Additionally, this patch will resolve various visual and connection issues affecting players on all platforms, along with some trading issues.
