Next Warbond Update for Helldivers 2 Introduces Jungle-Themed Camo Cosmetics for Enhanced Concealment

Introducing the Viper Commandos Warbond in Helldivers 2

It is that time of year again. Helldivers 2 is sending more reinforcements to the front lines with a new Warbond and a new Warbond structure moving forward.

The Viper Commandos War Bond: Jungle Warfare

On June 6, Helldivers 2 announced the next Warbond, Viper Commandos, which is themed around jungle warfare. The Warbond will be released on June 13 and will include a variety of goods to earn, including patterns, the game’s first vehicle customization item.

Customize Your Vehicles Using Patterns

Patterns are basically skins for your vehicles. Camouflage patterns for Hellpods, Exosuits, and your beloved Pelican-1 shuttle include woodland and tiger stripe designs. Aside from patterns, you may expect to see standard cosmetic items like capes, emotes, and armor sets with the Peak Physique passive.

Weapons in this Warbond are intended for close-range combat. The new primary weapon, the AR-23A Liberator Carbine, is a modified version of the original Liberator with increased recoil and handling. The SG-22 Bushwhacker is a new secondary shotgun with three barrels sawed off and two firing modes.

Utility Items for Tactical Advantage

Viper Commandos’ utility items are a throwing knife and an Experimental Infusion booster. The throwing knife is self-explanatory, but the booster allows stims to temporarily increase movement speed and lessen incoming damage.

The Viper Commandos Warbond contains fewer weaponry and more cosmetics than previous Warbonds, and Helldivers 2 appears to intend to do the same going ahead. According to the blog post from Arrowhead Game Studios, the developer wants to slow down the pace at which Warbonds release and focus more on the quality of content instead of adding more of everything. The idea is to free up space for new item kinds and higher-quality armor and weaponry, rather than something boring and redundant.

This aligns with Arrowhead’s previous statements to slow down the patch cadence and focus on making better content for Helldivers 2, including balancing already existing weapons.
