Take-Two expresses confidence in GTA 6 development despite major leak.

Rockstar Faces Major Leak of Grand Theft Auto 6 Footage

Earlier this year, Rockstar experienced a significant leak of unfinished elements from their highly anticipated game, Grand Theft Auto 6. The leak, which showcased the game in its incomplete state, resulted in a legal battle with a 17-year-old alleged hacker.

Rockstar’s attempt at damage control proved challenging as the leaked footage sparked a drop in their stock price. Despite this setback, the company remained optimistic about the future of their live game services and ongoing projects.

During Take-Two’s second-quarter earnings call, the parent company of Rockstar Games expressed support for the GTA developers. CEO Strauss Zelnick addressed the leak, emphasizing the importance of taking such incidents seriously while maintaining confidence in the game’s development.

Zelnick stated, “We are relieved that no material assets were taken and that the leak will not impact the game’s development. However, it is crucial for us to remain vigilant when it comes to cybersecurity.”

The leaked footage revealed that Grand Theft Auto 6 will be set in Vice City and will feature two playable protagonists, including the first-ever playable female character in GTA’s story mode.
