GTA 6 trailer sets a new 24-hour YouTube record, surpassing Mr. Beast

The Trailer for Grand Theft Auto 4 Breaks YouTube Views Record

The highly-anticipated trailer for Grand Theft Auto 4 has shattered Mr. Beast’s record for the most YouTube views on a non-music video in 24 hours.

Rockstar released the official trailer on Dec. 4 after it leaked online, and it has been gaining views at an astonishing speed to surpass Mr. Beast’s record.

According to Dexerto, the GTA 6 trailer has already surpassed Mr. Beast’s record for a non-music video on YouTube, which received 59.4 million views in the first 24 hours, and it achieved this feat in just 12 hours.

What’s even more impressive is that Rockstar Games’ YouTube account only has 7.1 million followers, compared to Mr. Beast’s 216 million, yet the GTA 6 trailer could set more records.

Considering how quickly the trailer became the most successful non-music video on YouTube in its first 24 hours, it seems likely that it will break the overall record currently held by K-pop group BTS for their 2021 song “Butter,” which received 108 million views in the same timeframe.

With GTA 6 set to release in 2025, there is a possibility that the trailer will keep accumulating views and become one of the most-viewed videos on YouTube, although it still has a long way to go to surpass the 13 billion views of “Baby Shark.”

After generating so much excitement with just one trailer, I’m eagerly anticipating more details about GTA 6, especially regarding the fate of GTA Online and the impact of the move to Vice City on the progress players have made over the past decade. While there may be some things that could be lost, I’m thrilled to experience GTA again without flying cars or bikes.
