GTA 6 confirmed for consoles, leaving PC owners concerned about potential delays

Grand Theft Auto 6 Skipping PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, PC Release Uncertain

Rockstar Games has confirmed that the highly anticipated game, Grand Theft Auto 6, will only be available for the current console generation (PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S) and will not be released for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. However, there is no information yet about a PC release.

After an early leak forced Rockstar to release the reveal trailer for GTA 6 ahead of schedule, Take-Two, the parent company, officially stated in a press release that the game will be launched for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S in 2025. Despite the lack of simultaneous release, it is surprising that there is no mention of a PC version.

It’s unlikely that there won’t be a PC release at all. Previous entries in the series have been made available on PC through Steam. It’s hard to imagine that Rockstar and Take-Two would deny a large portion of their audience the opportunity to play one of the most anticipated games ever.

However, this does mean that PC owners may have to wait even longer to play GTA 6 unless they switch to consoles. If the game is launching in 2025, it would make sense for that information to be included alongside the console versions. It took two years for Grand Theft Auto 5 to be released on PC after its initial console launch, so it’s possible that PC owners won’t get to play GTA 6 until 2027. Considering how long it took for the game to be announced, there’s no telling if the wait will be even longer.

Despite the wait, PC owners are not happy about the situation and have been expressing their frustrations online. It is understandable given that Rockstar and Take-Two have not provided any explanation for the lack of a PC version in 2025. However, this has not affected GTA 6’s reputation, as the trailer has already gained over 60 million views and seven million likes on YouTube.
