Fan Reactions to GTA 6 Not Receiving a PC Release: ‘My Interest Completely Fades Away’

GTA 6 Trailer Revealed: PlayStation and Xbox Launch Only

The highly anticipated game, GTA 6, has finally released its trailer and provided more details about the game. Unfortunately for PC players, the game will only be available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S upon its launch. This follows a similar pattern as previous Rockstar games like GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2, which also didn’t have a PC release at console launch. While this is not surprising for fans familiar with Rockstar’s approach, it has sparked disappointment among some players.

Fans have expressed two viewpoints regarding this decision. First, they find it absurd that there is no PC release, as they believe it’s time for Rockstar to adapt to the gaming landscape. The second viewpoint argues that this is how Rockstar has always operated and that it’s acceptable. However, this second viewpoint does not diminish the complaints of those who desire a PC version. In the modern era of gaming, relying on past practices without valid reasons doesn’t hold up.

While GTA 6 is expected to offer an expansive single-player experience, it is projected to have a long lifespan through the new era of GTA Online. However, the lack of a PC release and the delayed launch of GTA Online will make the game feel incomplete for many players. Additionally, it may devalue the contributions of PC content creators who have played a significant role in extending the shelf life of GTA 5 since its release in 2013.

There is currently limited information available about when GTA 6 will be released on PC. A rumored 2024 release has already been pushed back to 2025. This means that the PC port could potentially be released four or more years after the game’s trailer was unveiled on December 4, 2023. While creating an open-world game takes time, this extended timeline will likely disappoint thousands, if not tens of thousands, of PC players eagerly anticipating the new GTA.
