Why Tfue’s First Skin Purchase Is a Big Deal

FaZe Clan Star Tfue Buys Bullseye Skin in Fortnite

For the first time since his rise to the top of Fortnite: Battle Royale esports, FaZe Clan star Turner “Tfue” Tenney is no longer a default no-skin. Tfue purchased the Bullseye skin during a live stream after reaching 100,000 retweets on a single tweet. He decided to cash in his V-bucks and shared the story behind his decision.

Tfue’s Opportunity with NFL Skins

Epic Games, the developer of Fortnite, approached Tfue on November 5th, offering him the chance to access the new NFL skins alongside other Twitch streamers. Despite declining the offer, Epic still gave him the skin.

A Funny Coincidence with Tfue’s Appearance

Tfue, known for not using skins, ironically resembles the default no-skin character, Jonesy, in person. He even did a hilarious cosplay as part of the Fortnite club called Rift Raiders.

Tfue’s Change of Heart

Previously, Tfue bought every skin in the game before his original account was banned. Since then, he has refused to use or purchase skins on his new account. However, he broke his self-imposed rule and used the Cleveland Browns version of the football skin, partly out of spite towards Epic Games and their decision to grant him the NFL skin.

Tfue admitted that he embraced the hype and did it for the “clout” or popularity on Twitter. Regardless, he is still disappointed that Epic Games ruined his account and that he can no longer be a default Jonesy forever.
