What to Expect in Fortnite’s Upcoming v8.20 Content Update

Fortnite: Battle Royale v8.20 Content Update Coming Soon

The v8.20 Content Update patch notes for Fortnite: Battle Royale are set to go live on April 2 at 9:05 am CT.

A new Fortnite: Battle Royale update is coming tomorrow. The v8.20 content update will be available on April 2.

Players will have to wait for the patch notes to be released around 7am CT tomorrow to know the full changes in the v8.20 content update. The update does not require any download or downtime.

Although few details have been confirmed for this week’s Fortnite update, there are hints about what players can expect from the v8.20 content update.

Explosive Bow

A new weapon called the Explosive Bow is expected to be released in Fortnite: Battle Royale. It is rumored to be part of the v8.20 content update, although its release date has not been announced yet.

Based on leaks, the Explosive Bow is a Legendary explosive weapon that uses shotgun shells as ammo. It can deal 110 damage on impact, has a 1.296 reload time, and features knockback, area damage, and charged shots.

The introduction of the Explosive Bow may lead to the removal of another weapon in order to maintain balance in the game’s loot pool.

The Baller Nerf

The Baller vehicle is receiving nerfs in the v8.20 content update. Last week’s update removed its damage capabilities, and Epic Games announced that further nerfs would be implemented in the next update. Players will soon be able to shoot drivers through the glass and deal direct damage to them, eliminating the need to force them out of the vehicle or use Boogie Bombs.

Epic Games is making these changes because they are not satisfied with the way Ballers are currently used, especially in the late game.

Bug Fixes

The v8.20 content update is expected to include very few bug fixes. The previous update introduced numerous issues, prompting Epic Games to release a follow-up patch to address them. With many bugs already fixed, it is unlikely that this week’s update will include many more.

The patch notes will likely mention bug fixes related to trap placement near stairs and structure editing when an ally is nearby, according to the Fortnite Community Issues board.

We will provide updates as more information is announced or confirmed for Fortnite’s v8.20 content update.
