What to Expect in Fortnite’s Upcoming v7.30 Update

Fortnite’s v7.30 Update Coming Soon

Game developer, Epic Games, is preparing to release the highly anticipated v7.30 update for Fortnite, according to a tweet by community coordinator Sean “MrPopoTFS” Hamilton. This update is likely to be the last major one for January since Epic typically releases patches on Tuesdays or Wednesdays.

What to Expect in the 7.30 Update

Prior to the release of the official patch notes, players already have some clues about what to expect in the v7.30 update. Based on past updates and comments from the development team, there are a few potential changes coming to Fortnite.

New Item: Chiller Grenade

In keeping with the tradition of introducing new items with each weekly update, Epic will be adding the Chiller Grenade to Fortnite. The company teased the addition of this winter-themed weapon in the game’s News tab with the message, “Give your enemies cold feet with this winter blast!”

It is unclear how the Chiller Grenade will function exactly, but players can expect it to add some frosty mayhem to the game.

The End of the Ice Storm Event

A countdown timer in Fortnite: Battle Royale indicates that the Ice Storm event will conclude in less than 24 hours. Once it ends, players will no longer be able to complete event challenges or earn Ice Storm rewards. Additionally, the Ice Storm game modes will likely be replaced by the standard modes, and the Ice Legion zombies may disappear from the game.

Bug Fixes

The v7.30 update will address several bugs and issues that have been reported by the Fortnite community. The official Community Issues board lists at least 10 bug fixes that will be implemented. These include problems such as auto shooting with gamepads, X-4 Stormwing movement bugs after collisions, and inconsistencies with ziplines. Hopefully, this update will also resolve the issue of players being unable to complete the challenge of using X-4 Stormwing planes in different matches.

Leaks and Map Changes

As is customary on update day, Fortnite dataminers and leakers will be on the lookout for any new information about upcoming events and map changes. With the approaching week nine of Battle Pass challenges and the end of season seven, leaks are anticipated for the special seasonal skin Snowfall, as well as hints about other map changes that may impact the end of the season.

A New Creation on The Block

As usual, players can expect a new fan-made creation to be featured on The Block in Fortnite. Epic Games will likely select a new area built by a creative player to be added to Battle Royale for a week. This yet-to-be-revealed creation will replace the current Omega Pyramid by Directingpete.

All of these changes and additions will be confirmed when the v7.30 update goes live later this week. Stay tuned for more details!
