Wailing Woods Appears to Decay Prior to Fortnite Season 8

Fortnite Season Eight: Changes in Wailing Woods

The highly anticipated season eight of Fortnite is just around the corner, and players have already noticed some intriguing changes in the Wailing Woods area.

The west side of Wailing Woods has started to exhibit signs of decay, with the trees and leaves turning brown. These changes align with the leaks that were discovered last week, which showed the entirety of Wailing Woods in a discolored and rotted state.

On Twitter, Epic Games teased season eight with a picture of a pirate hook, along with a poem hinting at a hidden treasure. The poem included the phrase “X marks the spot,” further fueling speculation about the secret treasure.

Donald Mustard, Fortnite’s creative director, has also changed his Twitter location to Wailing Woods. This change in location mirrors his previous moves to The Iceberg and The Dungeon, which were hints of events and changes in season seven.

Players have been closely monitoring the appearance of cracks across the map in recent times. Starting with a crack southwest of Tomato Temple after an earthquake, a total of 19 cracks have since emerged in various locations. The prevailing theory suggests that the map may break up into islands.

The official start of Fortnite season eight is set for Thursday, February 28, when fans will finally discover what Epic Games has in store for them.
