Vivid and Poach Win $75,000 Grand Prize in Fortnite Summer Skirmish Duos Tournament
Vivid and Jake “Poach” Brumleve emerged as the champions of the $500,000 Fortnite Summer Skirmish Duos tournament, taking home the $75,000 grand prize.
Popular Players Compete in Intense North American Event
Today’s event brought together some of the best and most popular players in North America to compete in the fifth week of the eight-week tournament series. Notable competitors included Tyler “Ninja” Blevins and Jack “CouRage” Dunlop, who fought for the top spot ultimately claimed by Vivid and Poach.
New Scoring Format Leads to Victory for Vivid and Poach
Week five introduced a scoring format called King Pin, where each elimination was worth one point. A Victory Royale granted a three-times elimination bonus in the following match, and achieving seven or more kills earned a two-times elimination bonus in the subsequent game. Vivid and Poach emerged as victors because they accumulated the most points over eight matches.
This is not Vivid’s first win in the Summer Skirmish series. He previously won the inaugural event and secured his second title last Friday.
Notable Placements in the Tournament
Several notable players performed well in tonight’s competition. CouRage and Jacob “Hysteria” Reiser secured fourth place, while FaZe Clan’s Turner “Tfue” Tenney and Dennis “Cloak” Lepore finished in fifth.
