Upcoming Fortnite Updates May Include 50v50 Variations for Solid Gold, High Explosives, and Close Encounters LTMs

Fortnite: Battle Royale to Introduce New 50v50 Limited Time Modes

Leakers have revealed that Fortnite: Battle Royale will soon introduce several Limited Time Modes featuring two teams of 50 players. Lucas7yoshi, a well-known Fortnite leaker, shared this information on Twitter yesterday.

The upcoming 50v50 modes will include variations of modes that have previously been seen in Battle Royale, such as Solo, Duos, or Squads. One of these modes, called Close Encounters, will feature Shotguns and Jetpacks for close quarters combat. Lucas even shared the in-game description of the mode on Twitter.

Another mode, called 50v50 High Explosives, will only allow explosive weapons like Rocket Launchers, Grenades, and Dynamite. According to the leaked description, this mode will have extra loot, a more lethal storm, and shorter match length compared to the standard Battle Royale modes.

The final known mode in the 50v50 rotation is called Solid Gold. This mode will feature only Legendary items, along with extra loot, a stronger storm, and a fast-paced match.

In addition to these three modes, there is a possibility that Epic Games, the developer of Fortnite, will introduce more big team modes. This could include a standard mode with two teams of 50 players, as well as the high-mobility Soaring 50’s mode which has been featured in previous seasons.

If these 50v50 modes are indeed being added to the game, each mode is expected to be available for 48 hours. Epic Games has stated that modes with big teams will stay for two days instead of rotating out after one. Players can expect these modes to be introduced between now and January 1, when the 14 Days of Fortnite event is set to end.
