Understanding the Concept of Being a “Tryhard” in Fortnite: Battle Royale

Fornite: Battle Royale – Understanding the Term “Sweat”

If you’ve ever played a match in Fortnite: Battle Royale where another player was building complex structures and using advanced strategies, you’ve encountered what is commonly referred to as a “sweat”. These are players who go all out to demonstrate their skills, even against less experienced opponents. The term “sweat” refers to their intense efforts to make flashy plays, often resulting in them breaking a sweat.

Not Necessarily Skilled

Being a sweat doesn’t automatically mean a player is highly skilled. While they may excel at building and creative strategies, they can struggle with other important aspects of the game, such as aiming and taking effective shots. This can limit their ability to achieve high ranks in Fortnite or become professional players.

No Sweats Among Professionals

You will rarely hear professional Fortnite players referring to each other as sweats. When two amazing players face off, they rely on their full knowledge of the game to compete, rather than showcasing their skills for the sake of it. Even renowned players like Tyler “Ninja” Blevins and Turner “Tfue” Tenney, who are capable of incredible feats, adapt their strategies based on the situation at hand.

Consider the Cost

While it is impressive to pull off intricate build-edit combos to defeat opponents, it’s important to consider whether it’s worth it. Using excessive materials during a fight can leave you vulnerable if a third party arrives soon after. Running out of materials can make you an easy target.

If you enjoy playing Fortnite in this try-hard style, go for it. Just remember, as the sign in front of a Tilted Towers building warns, there is no sweat insurance.
